This title could be a little misleading because for the most part, summer is one of my favorite seasons. I love walking outside and having it be warm. I love all the activities associated with summertime, and I especially I love not having to wear 20 layers of clothing plus scarves, gloves and all the other winter accessories.

But there is a big downfall to summer which makes me joyously accept the cooler weather's invitation. And if you're a woman, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Shaving!

I find that during the summer I have to shave my legs every other day, if not everyday. For starters, being Middle Eastern means my hair grows back faster and thicker than the average person so that's Strike 1. Strike 2, it's a proven fact that the sun makes hair grow back faster. Therefore, my hair is working at double speed! Shaving is such a chore (and not a fun one at that) so you have to be consistent over the summertime if you want to wear shorts, a bathing suit, or anything that remotely shows off your legs.

And let's be realistic here, who has time to shave EVERYDAY?! Not me. Which meant some days when it was a scorching 90 some degrees I had to wear jeans or long pants. Let's just say I'm very thankful for air conditioning.

But, If you ever find yourself unshaven and not wanting to wear long pants, try the "half-shave." For example, wear leggings or capris and only shave the part of your leg that's going to be showing. This sometimes could mean only a quick shave of your ankles and you're out the door! It even works if you're wearing a skirt that goes just past your knees... all you have to do is shave the bottom half of your legs. No one will ever suspect that above those soft, smooth "half-shaven" legs is a cactus.

Now that summer is winding down I can happily go back to shaving whenever I feel like it; whether that be every few days or every few weeks. I don't know and frankly I don't care. So with that I say, bring on the fall/winter weather!

What is the one reason you're happy summer is over?
