Wisconsin Brewery Recalling Beer Because it Can Explode
But it's still safe to drink...?
Lakefront Brewery, out of Milwaukee, is recalling a brand of their beer because the bottle could explode. The brewery posted about it on their Instagram page asking anyone with bottles of "My Turn Junk" to "either refrigerate or carefully dispose of them." My Turn Junk is a sour beer made with cherries and sakura and the yeast from the cherries are what could cause the explosion.
In other words, if you happen to have this beer, keep it cold and pour it in a glass because the thought of throwing away a perfectly tasting beer is blasphemy. However, the brewery is offering a refund, until October 1st, to those who do throw it away.
According to WTVR, Lakefront issued the recall after three bottles exploded. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
As always, friends, happy (and safe) drinking!
