You Can Save Up to 50% off Fresh Food at Family Fare with this App
Saving money is always top of mind, especially these days, and now you can save big bucks the next time you're at Family Fare.
SpartanNash announced the relaunch of their Flashfood pilot program, which was put on hold a few months ago due to the pandemic.
The Flashfood app allows store guests and community nonprofits to purchase food nearing its best-by date at savings of up to 50 percent off.
Food that qualifies include meat, seafood, produce, bakery items, and deli products.
You must have the Flashfood app and search for deals at the participating Family Fare store. You then make your purchase on the app and pick it up at the "Flashfood" section (refrigerator or shelf rack) of the store.
SpartanNash says they plan on adding even more stores to the program by the end of the month. Currently, there are five participating locations:
- 2245 84th St., SW in Byron Center
- 1415 E. Fulton St. in Grand Rapids
- 2755 Lake Michigan Drive, NW in Grand Rapids
- 1225 Leonard, NE in Grand Rapids
- 6127 Kalamazoo Ave., SE in Kentwood
Not only does using Flashfood save you money but at the same time reduces food waste. Director of Retail Consumer Innovation at Family Fare said in the press release that this is a "win-win" situation,
Our aisles are filled with a variety of perishable foods, and as we get near the best-by dates, we want to make sure customers know about the savings available to them.
If this concept seems familiar, Meijer launched the same thing at all of their stores this past February.
Flashfood is based out of Toronto and operates in more than 450 grocery stores across Canada, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
