Fireworks? Invasion? End Of The World? Here’s What Happened In Downtown Grand Rapids Tuesday Night
The 4th of July was several weeks ago, but many people in Grand Rapids felt like they were having deja vu Tuesday night when a massive fireworks show took place in downtown Grand Rapids.

Many people in Grand Rapids were wondering what the heck was going on.
Was the loud noise thunder? Did an explosion of some kind happen?
After looking online to see if anyone knew what was happening I found some answers on Grand Rapids Informed and Reddit.
It appears that the fireworks show was put on by SpartanNash.
SpartanNash is an American food distributor and grocery store retailer headquartered in Byron Center, Michigan.
Tuesday kicked off the 2024 SpartanNash Food Solutions Expo at DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids.
According to SpartanNash the three-day event offers attendees a firsthand look at the latest advancements in the company’s merchandising transformation, as well as enhanced customer service solutions and more than 400 new product introductions, including several OwnBrands offerings.
At the close of the event, SpartanNash will partner with its vendors to donate 7 truckloads of product to the Grand Rapids branch of Feeding America.
I love fireworks like everyone else, but I really wish there would have been some kind of public notice or heads up.
My wife Lindsey and I were watching TV and our dogs had just gone to sleep when all hell broke loose in our house.
Our dogs started freaking out and one can of Miller Lite was wasted after our dog Benny knocked it over with his tail as he was barking at the mysterious loud noises.
I think it's safe to speak on behalf of everyone in Grand Rapids that going forward there should be no more fireworks permits issued unless it's for the 4th of July.
