Hi, I’m Steve and I’m a new Dad who has learned a lot of things over the last several months and I want to pass along some knowledge to you!

Each week I will be giving you some new tips for first-time parents and one spectacular Dad joke!  So let's get to the tips!

  1. Today’s first daddy tip is to give your little one full access to youtube and see what happens!  It cracks me up what Charlotte pulls up on there! I’ve seen her play everyone’s favorite, she’s busted out some techno, and yesterday she even left her very first comment on one of her favorite cartoon shows Titipo.  She wrote ‘def’. D-E-F. I think she was trying to say this is def my fav episode, or maybe she was replying to someone she agreed with by saying def, dude. Who knows, but it’s awesome! Kids plus YouTube equals some weird fun for everyone.
  2. The second daddy tip is advice so you can avoid getting your feelings hurt by your little one as I did over the weekend.  I was with Connie, Fish, and a ton of listeners last week in Punta Cana and I spent an entire week away from Charlotte. When I finally got home, I wanted to see her really bad, but she was asleep.  But, luckily she woke up in the middle of the night crying. Awww poor baby girl. So, I decided I would go in and surprise her. Well, after not seeing me for a week and being half asleep, she was kinda frightened of me.  My heart sank when she cried for mommy and buried her head in her chest. So my advice is after time away, wait until your little one is fully awake before showing him or her you are home. Or better yet, just don’t ever leave your baby for a week.
  3. And the last daddy tip of the week is to finally move on from referring to your little baby as a little baby and start referring to them as a toddler.  Charlotte just turned one last month and she still seemed like a baby, but just in that last month she has started to do all sorts of toddler type things.  She stands up all the time, she eats and drinks her bottle pretty much on her own, and she is more curious than ever. Sure, it’s hard to come to grips with the fact that your baby isn’t a baby anymore, but kids grow up quick.  Actually, forget everything I just said, Charlotte is still my baby girl and she always will be! Get over here baby girl, who wants to play with the tickle monster!

And now it’s time for an awesome dad joke!

Q: Did you know the first French fries weren't actually cooked in France?
A: Nope, they were cooked in Greece.
