Our friend and coworker, Stephanie, was raving about a new carpet-cleaning company in Grand Rapids called Zerorez.

Traditional steam cleaning soaks the carpet, pad and backing and leaves behind detergent that clings to the carpet fibers and attracts dirt and other matter we'd rather not have lurking in our homes. Zerorez has a different system, though. They use a revolutionary, non-toxic water-based cleaning agent called Powered Water that cleans and sanitizes without leaving residue, according to their website. They even remove the detergent left by other cleaners!

Stephanie was having Zerorez clean her carpets right before she hosted a birthday party, so we popped in to investigate how effective Zerorez was. We spied a few spots where dog pee stains remained despite her best efforts to spot clean:

Stephanie ran into us in the hall at work the next day and said not only were all the dog pee spots gone, but everything was completely dry by the time her birthday party guests arrived. The whole house smells fresh -- like, really clean, not the cleaning solution smell you can get with other places.

In fact, we loved the results so much that we decided we're going to have Zerorez clean our homes, too. Stay tuned for updates on those experiences!
