This weekend’s schedule includes a lot of opportunities to eat some great food. There is also dancing water, ghosts, baseball, pet adoption, a car cruise, jazz, dance, and even a triathlon! Get out and have some fun this weekend.

Restaurant Week GR is your chance to Taste the City! Savor specially priced lunches, dinners or both at 60+ area restaurants. Each restaurant will create a special menu highlighting fresh, local ingredients for the event. There will be three options this year:
Option 1: 2 courses for $15 per person
Option 2: 2 courses for $25 per person
Option 3: Chef's Choice for over $25 per person

For three days, an amazing crew of volunteers, parishioners, friends and families pull together to essentially open West Michigan's largest restaurant! Their homemade food, desserts, and imported libations are only the beginning of your cultural submersion! Live music, dancing, and other activities all help round out your visit.

Friday night will be Harry Potter Night at the ballpark. Watch Fifth Third Ballpark transform into Hogwarts for 1 night only. Harry Potter and his crew will be in attendance along with a wand making station, golden snitch hunt, and pregame Quidditch. After the game, it will be Family Fare Fireworks! Be sure to stick around for an incredible fireworks display!

"Ghosts of Grand Rapids" Historic Walking Tour

Join the author(s) of "Ghosts of Grand Rapids" for an evening of Grand Rapids history mixed with the paranormal world. Each tour guide will portray a member of Grand Rapids' past to heighten your historical experience. The Ghosts of Grand Rapids Walking Tours begin and end at the Grand Rapids Public Library, cover just over a mile and take approximately 2 hours.

The Musical Fountains

The Grand Haven Musical Fountain is a synchronized water and light show accompanied with music of all varieties. Each 25-minute show features a variety of well-known music and plays daily at dusk from Memorial Day through Labor Day as well as Fridays and Saturdays in May and September. This Saturday, they will have a “Frozen” themed show.

Clear the Shelters

WOOD TV8 and NBC stations across the country are teaming up with hundreds of shelters to host “Clear the Shelters”. This is a nationwide pet adoption drive to help find loving homes for animals in need. There are two participating shelters in our viewing area:
Harbor Humane Society in Ottawa County and Humane Society of West Michigan in Walker. Some shelters are offering discounts for adoptions on Saturday only. It is recommended that you call ahead and pre-qualify.

Remembrance Car Cruise/Thin Blue Line Fundraiser

There is no need to drive to Detroit to see classic cars this weekend. Remember the good ole days, and check out the Remembrance Car Cruise. The cruise will begin near Sobie Meats and end near the department on the city complex. Festivities will include: Classic Cars, Police and Fire Trucks, BBQ & Snacks, Games for the Kids, Raffle. The raffle proceeds will be given to Thin Blue Line Michigan, which is a charity that assists families of first responders.

The 7th annual GRandJazzFest presented by the DTE Energy Foundation is West Michigan's only free, weekend-long jazz festival! The GRandJazzFest will bring to the stage notable jazz performers as well as up-and-coming artists for diverse audiences. The event is family friendly. Bring folding chairs, blankets and snacks, and get ready to relax for a couple of hours or for the whole weekend! The central-downtown location is ideal for supporting local businesses, restaurants and pubs, and for visiting other Grand Rapids attractions. They've partnered with Mobile GR to encourage people to walk, bike, ride the bus or ride share to get to the fest!

Michigan Titanium Triathlon

It’s the 7th Michigan Titanium Triathlon, Michigan's only Full Distance tri. Athletes, Volunteers, and spectators alike are invited to enjoy this all day event. A kids triathlon will be held on Saturday, August 18th.
