A couple of weeks ago I posted some film of old Ramona Park, Reeds Lake in East Grand Rapids, from 1946. Well, let's go back there again, this time to downtown Grand Rapids.

This is a film I found on the website GR Retro, and was courtesy of the Grand Rapids Amateur Film Club and posted to YouTube by Karl Mickna. I rewound the film back to its tour of downtown Grand Rapids and it's lots of fun, especially if you've lived here for a while.

From 71-years ago, you'll see downtown streets, the old city hall, the police department  motorcycle division, the fire department's training session on a downtown building, and so much more.

Unfortunately, I can't stop it when it finishes it's look at downtown, so it will continue on. Feel free to bail out at about 6:30 into the film.

Enjoy!
