Today, The Right Place and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation announced four West Michigan projects that will bring 281 jobs and $113.8 million in capital investment to the cities of Grand Rapids, Kentwood and Newaygo.

The jobs are spread across four West Michigan companies which are all expanding their operations.

Amphenol Borisch Technologies

  • Investing $3.7 million to expand Kentwood headquarters and create 82 jobs.
  • ABT builds complex electromechanical assemblies, cable harnesses, circuit cards and discrete mechanicals for the aerospace and defense industries.
  • They employ more than 400 people at five North American locations.
  • The Kentwood headquarters campus employs nearly 200 people in manufacturing and administrative positions.
  • The company plans to renovate portions of its existing facility and purchase new equipment.

DealerOn

  • Expanding in the City of Grand Rapids to create 44 high-tech jobs.
  • DealerOn provides web platforms, managed social media services, SEO & SEM, lead generation tools, call tracking, and internet lead management for auto dealers.
  • They are headquartered in Maryland and have more than 200 employees with three offices nationwide.
  • DealerOn’s Grand Rapids office currently has 25 employees.
  • DealerOn's recent growth and new contract with Ford Motor Company helped lead them to choose Grand Rapids for development.

Grand River Aseptic

  • Adding 107 new jobs and investing $63.5 million into a new facility.
  • They provide outsourced sterile parenteral manufacturing for the life sciences industry. Its services include pharmaceutical development and manufacturing, analytical testing and regulatory filing support.
  • They have two Grand Rapids locations, both are near capacity. A new 62,400 square foot building on Butterworth St. will house additional production space for pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging.

Magna Mirrors

  • Investing $45 million and creating 48 new jobs in Newaygo.
  • The company’s facility in the City of Newaygo manufactures interior and exterior rearview mirrors with value-added features such as electronic displays and auto-dimming glass.
  • It is one of the county’s largest employers with over 1,300 employees.
  • As part of the expansion, Magna Mirrors will construct a 175,000-square-foot manufacturing and assembly facility at its Newaygo location.
