If you’ve been waiting for West Michigan to get its own Raising Cane’s, the wait is almost over. And if you’re willing to show up opening day, it’s going to be a party. (Take it from someone who went to opening day for Michigan's first location.)

Raising Cane’s will officially open its first West Michigan location in Kentwood on Monday, November 18, at 3650 28th Street SE, right near Trader Joe’s in the former Outback Steakhouse building. They will be opening the doors at 10 am, but the real party starts a couple of hours earlier, with giveaways and festivities kicking off at 8 am.

Between 8 and 9am, guests can enter to win one of 20 “Free Cane’s for a Year” prizes, which might be the most coveted thing possible for the true Caneiac.

On top of that, the East Kentwood Cheer Team will perform throughout the morning, and they’ll have a live DJ spinning songs to keep the vibes going. Then, they say they plan to have a ribbon-cutting ceremony around 9:45 am, right before the doors are set to officially open.

If you’re an early bird, there are even more reasons to line up. The first person in line will take home a special Raising Cane’s gift basket, while the first 100 combos sold will come with a free Cane’s hat and Box Combo Card (If you’re a fan of those crispy chicken fingers, that insanely addictive sauce, and their iconic crinkle-cut fries, that’s a pretty sweet deal.)

The Louisiana-based chain is famous for its simple (but seriously addictive) menu of chicken finger meals, buttery Texas toast, and that signature Cane’s Sauce people can’t seem to get enough of. And this Kentwood opening is just the first of hopefully many other Michigan locations. Raising Cane’s says it’s also planning locations in Portage, Mount Pleasant, and nearby in Grandville, with hopes to open about 20 restaurants across Michigan in the next decade.

Whether you’re already a Cane’s devotee or just curious what all the hype is about, November 18 is shaping up to be quite the party on 28th Street.
