Life-Changing Money: How 53 Michiganders Became Instant Millionaires in 2023

We all dream of one day hitting a big lottery jackpot and never having to work again. But if you're like me, you've bought countless tickets and gotten lucky with $20-50 at a time. (It's okay, we can't all be that lucky.)

But there were 53 Michiganders who managed to win a lottery jackpot that was over a million dollars. That number shocked me, because I didn't realize that many people could hit it big in a single year. And the biggest one of all was won by a West Michigan man. Another 25 people won over $100,000

According to the Michigan lottery, a Kent County man won this year's biggest lottery jackpot, walking away with 8.75 million dollars. He chose to stay anonymous (who could blame him) but he said the money is 'life changing'.

I checked the ticket Sunday morning and couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw I matched all the numbers. I called for my wife and had her look the ticket over to make sure I wasn’t seeing things. Once my wife confirmed I’d won, she called for my son to have him triple check the ticket too. We were all stunned!

Overall, The Michigan lottery not only gave away over $3 billion in cash prizes this year, they also were able to raise $1.3 billion dollars for Michigan schools off the revenue gathered with each ticket sale in 2023.
