A Gas Station Stop on the Ride Home Led to a Massive $500,000 Michigan Lottery Win
A Michigan man just won big on a scratch off ticket that he purchased on his way home from a vacation.

The lucky 64-year-old man from Genesee County won $500,000 on the Michigan Lottery's Detroit Tigers Instant Game Ticket.
He recently made the trip to Michigan Lottery headquarters in Lansing to turn in the winning ticket and collect his cash.

While there he shared with lottery officials how the big win happened.
“My wife and I were on our way home from vacation and stopped to get gas. When I was in line to cash out, the person ahead of me bought several scratch-off tickets, which inspired me to buy a few. I bought two Detroit Tigers tickets for myself and two Cashword tickets for my wife."
“We sat down at the table later that night and scratched our tickets. When I saw I had a $500,000 winner, I was in disbelief. My wife and I looked at the ticket numerous times to make sure we were reading it right. I kept thinking I misread the directions and just won a smaller amount on the ticket because I couldn’t wrap my head around it actually being a $500,000 winner!”
This lottery win isn't the only big one to happen recently.
A Bay County woman who had been playing Lotto 47 for 20 years with the same numbers hit it big and won $1.1 million.
