The Grand Rapids Symphony has a special treat for all Mothers, and everyone for that matter, for Mother's Day. It's another of their Virtual Concerts, and it is extraordinary!

After the overwhelmingly positive response to the orchestra’s virtual performance of the “Hallelujah” Chorus from Handel’s “Messiah,” just prior to Easter, conductor Marcelo Lehninger wanted to do it again, and boy did they ever.

Just watch as the symphony virtually creates the main theme for the time-traveling love story Somewhere in Time, starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour, filmed at the famous Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island in 1979. And, it features Marcelo Lehninger's mother, famed Brazilian pianist Sonia Goulart. What a treat!

Happy Mother's Day!
