
Apple Juice Recall Expands Across Michigan And 27 Other States Over Toxin Concerns
If you’ve purchased apple juice in the past couple of months, you should check your fridge or pantry to ensure it isn’t part of a large recall currently affecting 28 states.

The affected apple juice was found to possibly be contaminated with Patulin, which could cause some unwanted symptoms.
According to the World Health Origination, (WHO) Patulin is a mycotoxin produced by a variety of molds, particularly Aspergillus, Penicillium and Byssochlamys.
They can often be found in rotting apples and apple products.
Patulin can also occur in various moldy fruits, grains, and other foods.
People who consume patulin may experience some unwanted symptoms, including:
- Nausea
- Gastrointestinal disturbances
- Vomiting
FDA Issues Class II Recall For Martinelli Apple Juice
Back on March 18th, 2025, S Martinelli & Company issued a recall on over 170,000 bottles of it's 10oz apple juice.
These bottles were sold in cases of 24.
The recalled bottles featured a “best by” date of Dec. 5, 2026 and a UPC number reading “0 41244 04102 2.”

That recall was changed to a Class II Recall , which means that use of or exposure to the violative product may cause temporary or medically eversible adverse health consequences, or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.
Where The Recalled Juice Was Sold
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says the recalled juice was distributed to 28 states including Michigan.

However, if you have the affected apple juice, you should toss it to be safe.
