Are you tired? Are your kids always whiny? Maybe the whole house isn't getting enough sleep! The National Sleep Foundation released a new study that breaks down sleep recommendations tailored to a person's age.

WOOD-TV 8 reports on this study that included 18 scientists who reviewed 300 sleep studies, they found that children need more sleep that what was originally recommended.

Here are the new suggestions:

  • Newborn to 3 months: 14-17 hours
  • 4 to 11 months: 12-15 hours
  • 1 to 2 years: 11-14 hours
  • 3 to 5 years: 10-13 hours
  • 6 to 13 years: 9-11 hours
  • 14 to 17 years: 8-10 hours
  • 18 to 25 years: 7-9 hours
  • 26 to 64 years: 7-9 hours
  • 65 or older: 7-8 hours

So, if you really want to sleep like a baby, get ready for a good 15 hour slumber!
