ArtPrize features 1,517 entries and 161 venues, but only a limited amount of time to see everything.  The 2012 ArtPrize mobile app helps maximize your visits to ArtPrize.

The ArtPrize app makes voting and seeing art easier and faster.

The iPhone 5 hits streets September 21, but you don't need a new one to download the ArtPrize app.  The 2012 ArtPrize app is also compatible with:

  • iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPad and Android phones. Requires iOS 5.1 or later for Apple products.  The Android app requires Google's Android 2.2 operating system.

The app has many features:

GEO-LOCATION ACCOUNT ACTIVATION

To vote in ArtPrize you must first create an account online.  Next, you must go downtown and show your ID at a registration site to activate your account.  The lines are often long.  With the mobile app you can avoid those lines.  Geo-Location will know when you've arrived downtown at ArtPrize.  The app will ask if you would like to activate your account once you are there.

VOTE

Voting up or down during the first round of ArtPrize can be a lot of work.  Without the mobile app you will need to keep a list of up and down votes, then log in later to apply those votes.  The ArtPrize app allows you to vote as you go.

ARTIST AND VENUE INFO

Have a specific artist or venue you want to find?  It's easy with the app.  You can check the map to find the nearest venue at any time.  This can be very helpful when trying to find smaller venues.  You can also look up any piece of art or artist to find more info.

The ArtPrize event guide provides artist and venue lists similar to the app for $5, but the ArtPrize app is free and provides more convenience.

If you have a compatible mobile device, downloading the 2012 ArtPrize app will improve your ArtPrize experience by making voting and seeing art at ArtPrize easier.
