Case Dropped Against West Michigan Couple Accused of Sex Crimes
The criminal charges against an Ottawa County couple accused of sex crimes have been dropped.
WOOD-TV8 reports that the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department has confirmed that charges against Anuj and Leslie Chopra were dropped. The couple's defense attorney, Damian Nunzio told the Grand Rapids Press that they were dropped following the discovery of text messages that showed that the alleged victims were "pressured into keeping with their false stories."
Anuj Chopra was charged with human trafficking for allegedly offering money to teen boys to film them having sex. His wife, Leslie Chopra, was accused of distributing sexually explicit photos to minors and using a computer to commit a crime.
The case was dropped Friday.
