Before we get to the Daddy Tips for this week, does anyone else think that kids have horrible taste in toys?

  1. Today’s first Daddy Tip to always use your sidewalk chalk the night before it rains. That way you never have to wash it off yourself and you can chalk up whatever you want. Heck you can even draw some things that might be a bit inappropriate. Like I may have drawn some flowers that looked suspiciously like boobies.
  2. The next Daddy Tip is very important if you don’t want your little one to be permanently terrified of spiders. If you have a playhouse in your backyard like Charlotte does, be sure that you give that thing a good cleaning before each time your kiddo uses it because ours turned into a spider sanctuary. I’m glad I checked out the house before she went inside because there were literally dozens of spiders and most of them had sacks of eggs. I made sure I gave that a thorough spray down with the house before Charlotte set foot inside.
  3. And the final Daddy Tip of the week is to never let your toddler pick out the toys that they want because they will pick stupid things that they will get bored with almost immediately. Instead buy them toys that you’ll enjoy and I bet they will like them more because you do to. Every time we let Charlotte pick a toy it sits in her closet or in the toy box but when Britt or I get her something like an awesome hot wheels race track that I played with all night last night, she really likes playing with it too. So I guess my tip is that hot wheels are a pretty awesome toy for adults. I mean toddlers… definitely meant toddlers.

And now it’s time for an awesome Dad Joke!

Q: How many birds does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Usually three, but Toucan.
