After a shooting left one man dead outside of the Chicken Coop, the owner has agreed to close early on the weekend.

The restaurant, which is located on Division Avenue in Grand Rapids, was the site of a homicide last weekend when 33-year-old Terence Hollis was shot.

WOOD-TV 8 reports that there have been a "handful of homicides and violent incidents" outside of the restaurant in the past, and starting this weekend, the Grand Rapids Police Department will have its mobile command unit parked nearby.

The Chicken Coop will now close at midnight on Saturdays, it previously closed at 4 a.m.
