Donate A Coat, See A Grand Rapids Gold Game For Free This Season
It's getting colder here in West Michigan and you probably already know that without a coat, it's pretty hard to survive the harsh temperatures that Michigan winters tend to bring. And for a lot of people in the Grand Rapids area, a coat is a given. But for some of our neighbors, they're not an easy reality.
Last year, when Big Joe and Laura of Mix 95.7 teamed up with Grand Rapids non-profit Neighbors for Neighbors (N4N), they had a humble goal of trying to gather 100 coats to help with the homeless and unhoused at Heartside park. As West Michigan always proves themselves to be- the generosity of others allowed N4N to give out 396 coats to those who needed them most.
Unfortunately, that need hasn't gone away, and this year we are back at square one looking to find ways to make sure members of our community won't be cold as we move into the winter months. So this year, they've gathered an army of local friends to help them reach a goal of 100 coats, to help keep our neighbors who are less fortunate warm.
If you don't know about the mission of Neighbors For Neighbors and the monthly drop offs they do at Heartside Park, you can learn more here.
While it feels great to help others, your kindness won't go unrewarded- the Grand Rapids Gold have graciously offered up 2 game tickets for every coat donated. That means if you grab a new or gently used coat and drop it off at one of our 20+ drop off locations- you'll be able to see the Gold at a game of our choice this season.
Grab a voucher from the front desk of any of those locations after you drop off your coat in the box provided by Two Men & A Truck- and purchase two tickets online, or at the box office when you want to see them play!
Buckets donated a coat, so you should too!
We won't run out of vouchers, but this coat drive is only going for a limited time. So make sure you donate before the big wrap-up at the Grand Rapids Gold home game against the Motor City Drive on 12/15 to be a part of this fantastic cause.
Go ahead and dig into that closet, find that coat you no longer need, or pick one up when you're out next, and help with our mission to keep everyone in Grand Rapids warm this winter.
