There are Exotic Meats in These Pasties And Yoopers Freaked Out

Grab a pasty, the iconic dish of Michgian's Upper Peninsula, and you've got a pretty good idea what to expect - beef (maybe chicken) in a pastry with root vegetables like potato, rutabaga, carrots and onion.

Joe's Pasty Shop in Ironwood posted a sign outside that certainly turned some heads along Aurora Street offering "specialty pasties" consisting of camel and elk meat.

So would you try one?

Reaction was decidedly mixed on the Yoopers Rule the World, Eh Facebook page ranging from an "eww" to "I'd try one" and beyond:

Bet they are dry
Kind of makes the ketchup or gravy controversy seem insignificant.
I first read that as CARAMEL pasties LOL
they had alligator pasties a month or so ago...they were really good.
