Allison Harte, a veteran Grand Rapids disc jockey who was pulled from a pool Tuesday night at her Rockford-area home, has died, according to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital officials.

Harte, whose real name is Prudence Dykstra, died Thursday night after family decided to take her off a respirator, according to her husband, Roger. She was 58.

Allison had been in a medically induced coma and was not breathing when her husband pulled her from the pool. Paramedics administered CPR and resuscitated her upon arriving at the residence.

Allison Harte was best known for her work at WLAV-FM, but had also worked at other local radio stations throughout the years.
