Grand Rapids is Finally Getting Their First Gluten Free Brewery
If you're living life in Beer City U.S.A and also living your life gluten free... you don't have many options to drink. And while some people just go ahead and "suffer" for one of their favorite beverages, soon you won't have to thanks to a new brewery that is opening in Grand Rapids.
Brewery Nyx came to be after owner and founder Jessica Strickland spent 12 years gluten free and realized that West Michigan was lacking for people like her that wanted to enjoy a cold one, but couldn't without having to face the music of her gluten allergy
How common are gluten allergies?
While the most common cause for people to be allergic to gluten is celiac disease, it's not the only reason people may find themselves being gluten resistant.
In fact, experts think that up to 20 million Americans may stuffer with this disorder, which means there are a large amount of us who are unable to drink regular beer without feeling a little rough (and that has nothing to do with the hangover from having too many.)
When and Where can I Purchase Brewery Nyx products?
While their taproom will be fully opening in a few weeks, you can still swing by and pick up some of their brews to go. In fact, if you follow them on Instagram or on their website you'll find several taproom only specials.
You can also find their products already on the shelves of several businesses in West Michigan including the Bridge Street Market.
When will their tap room be open to the public?
Soon - While they have not said a specific date, you'll be able to visit them in the near future. They plan to announce a launch date on their social media and websites, so follow them for the latest information on their opening.
