Grand Rapids Is The Second Best City In Nation For People With Disabilities
A good quality of life and access to great health care are the main reason Grand Rapids is a friendly place for people with disabilities.
October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, so the web site WalletHub conducted an in-depth analysis of the best and worst cities in the nation to live in for those with disabilities, and Grand Rapids came in second overall in the BEST category.
In order to ease the process of finding the best place to live while managing a disability, WalletHub’s analysts compared the 150 most populated U.S. cities across 28 key indicators of disability-friendliness. The data set ranges from wheelchair-accessible facilities per capita to rate of workers with disabilities to quality of public hospital system.
