The Man Who Tried to Murder Two Grand Rapids Police Officers is Now Off the Street
On Tuesday Grand Rapids Police were doing proactive police work near Adams Street SE and Blaine Avenue SE when they spotted a man suspected of stealing a gun from a home in Grand Rapids.

In bodycam footage released by the Grand Rapids Police Department you can hear officers calling out for the man saying that they need to talk with him.
The man appeared to ignore them and kept on walking away.

He then starts to put his hands in his pockets.
The officer tells him to take his hands out of his pockets, but he keeps on walking and then a few seconds later turns around and pulls out a gun.
The suspect and two police officers begin to exchange gunfire with a combined 13 shots fired in total, thankfully nobody was hit or injured.
Within about ten seconds GRPD, EGRPD and MSP officers arrived on the scene and were able to set up a perimeter and capture the suspect who now could be facing some big charges.
According to Wood TV, Chief Winstrom expects the man to face an attempted murder charge.
I am so thankful that an individual who was willing to, when approached by police officers, turn and attempt to murder two police officers is now off the street and hopefully will be off the street for a very long time.
