Going back to school can be stressful: You've got to get back into the groove of going to class, there's new people to meet, school supplies you'll need to buy...

But getting into a fight at Walmart and involving a loaded weapon over a notebook seems a little extreme.

The Detroit Free Press reports that the incident occurred at the Novi Walmart Monday afternoon.

According to police two Farmington Hills women, ages 46 and 32, and a mother and daughter from South Lyon, ages 51 and 20, got into a fight when one of the women reached for the last notebook on the shelf.

Novi Police Department Det. Scott Baetens told  Fox2News ,

"One girl was going to buy a notebook, there was one left, some pushing resulted. They began to argue who was the rightful purchaser of that notebook."

It's alleged that the women from Farmington Hills pulled the pulled the 20-year-old’s hair. Her mother then pulled a gun and told the women to stop attacking her daughter.

Police say the mother is a valid Concealed Pistol License holder, but arenot releasing what kind of gun was in her possession. The names of the individuals involved have also not been released.

A witness recorded the incident via cell phone. The Oakland County Prosecutor's Office is now reviewing the case.
