The answer should be "YES," because we've all done it!

I was just reading this story from Pew Research which pretty much backs up my theory that there's a select few of us who will do just about anything to avoid strangers.

I'm kind of surprised this number isn't larger, but 23% of people polled admit to pulling their phone out to avoid talking to other people. The story talks more about people who avoid talking to their friends or family, which is kind of rude. Maybe that's why the number is so low. But have you ever had a stranger approach you, and you nervously pulled your phone out to avoid a conversation you don't want to have?

I'll admit, I've flipped through menus to look busy on occasion!
