If you are looking to give back to the community during the holidays, AgeWell Services is in need of volunteers for their Meals on Wheels program.

The company shared the call for volunteers on their Facebook page on Thursday morning. The shortage is due to many of the volunteers for AgeWell's Meals on Wheels programs being seasonal and leaving the area for the winter.

If AgeWell Services doesn't get new volunteers, they will be forced the cut two to three routes in Holland by the beginning of next year. Currently, AgeWell Services supplies meals for over 60 seniors in the Holland area.

AgeWell Services' Meals on Wheels program provides a meal delivery service to seniors, people with disabilities, and others in need in the Holland area. The Meals on Wheels service also provides seniors with company and is a great way to make sure that they are safe and getting everything they need.

According to an interview with WZZM 13, over half of the Meals on Wheels participants say that the only contact they have throughout the day is with their Meals on Wheels drivers.

If you would like to volunteer to become a Meals on Wheels driver for AgeWell Services, you can complete an application on their website or mail the application to Jessica Shagonaby at 275 W. Clay Ave., Suite 100, Muskegon, MI 49440. Volunteers need a valid license, a vehicle, and will need to pass a background check.

For more information about the Meals on Wheels program you can visit AgeWell Services' website or call 231-755-0434 or 1-800-442-6769.
