Is It Possible: Could Taylor Swift Add A Stop In Grand Rapids To Her 2023 Tour?

Taylor Swift fans, or as they refer to themselves as 'Swifties', all screamed in joy on Tuesday (November 1st) when the queen herself dropped a surprise tour announcement for 2023.

'The Eras Tour' already has 27 stops in states across the US, including very reasonable drives to Chicago and Detroit... but there is one thing a lot of people in Grand Rapids are noticing: there's a lot of time between those two dates.

Has Taylor Swift Performed in Grand Rapids, Michigan Before?

Yes! Taylor Swift's last visit to Grand Rapid was over a decade ago, when she first got her start playing (mostly) country music.

She first played Van Andel Arena in 2008, just 20 days before her second album dropped, and said she really "loved grand rapids".

Then she returned in 2011, and one of the highlights of the concert was her paying a little tribute to some of our favorite Michigan musicians...

Why does Taylor Swift have so much time between her tour dates?

For anyone who hasn't seen Taylor's tour before, they may not realize the massive amount of stage elements it involves. While you may think that it's just a girl and her guitar (and maybe a few dancers), there's a lot of work that goes into her shows.

Her stage may take a day or two to set up between travel dates, meaning she needs the time to travel from city to city and tear down / set up.

Taylor may have also left some of these days open so that she can have vocal rest, allowing her to give us the most powerful show possible.

Will Taylor Swift Come To Grand Rapids, Michigan?

While, wilder dreams have happened, and she did say she loves us, she may be a little too big (and busy) to stop by West Michigan to say hi on this tour.
