Is Your Gym Judgment Free?
Recently a woman who is 18 weeks pregnant was asked to change her clothes or leave the Planet Fitness she had been a member for the last 3 years.
The mother-to-be, Melissa Mantor, was told she was in violation of dress code for wearing a shirt that showed her stomach. The shirt she was wearing was actually the same shirt in a different color that she wore in her membership photo. Mantor posted a picture of herself in what she was wearing that day and there was maybe an inch of exposed mid-drift.
Mantor says it is hard enough to get the motivation to go to the gym, whether you are pregnant or not. She also said she never felt so judged in her life after she was asked to leave.
Planet Fitness has since apologized to Mantor and offered her a few free months, but she has said she does not feel comfortable going back to that location.
