Great news if you love Field & Fire! Co-owners Shelby and Julie Kibler opened their first location at the Grand Rapids Downtown Market in 2013. Known for their wood-fired, artisan breads made from slowly fermented dough, the bakery quickly became a favorite for its nutrient-rich, flavorful, and digestible baked goods. The pair expanded with a café at 800 Monroe Ave. in 2016, offering seasonal, locally sourced meals and treats.

“The advantage to going there is that all the base goods are made on site and sold the day they’re baked,” Shelby Kibler told Wood TV-8. “So, everything is super fresh.”

The new space allows Field & Fire to expand their production while continuing to prioritize sustainability, organic ingredients, and local sourcing, including flour, honey, eggs, and meats from nearby farms.
