Can’t Live On Mackinac Island? Working There Is The Next Best Thing
One of summer's most popular activities is going to Mackinac Island, USA TODAY's #1 summer vacation destination three years in a row. The island's uniqueness draws millions of people from all around the world. But the problem is that an island with a population of ~500-800 full-time residents needs help manning the ship that is Mackinac Island.

So why not kill two birds with one stone? You can visit the island and become part of it by getting a job working for one of the many historic businesses. There is a litany of seasonal jobs available, and applying for them is surprisingly easy.
Seasonal Jobs on Mackinac Island
Much of Mackinac Island's income comes from tourism, running from May to October. While it's known for its fudge and horse rides, there are loads of positions that need to be filled that you wouldn't expect. The Mackinac Island Tourism Bureau has job postings with varying levels of experience required, from kayak tour guides to basic landscaping.

Now, it should be noted that if you're looking to work on the island as a way of living there, you may be out of luck. Vacancy on the island is incredibly limited, and while some businesses offer housing, in most cases, you'll need to commute there each morning AND provide your own housing.
Personally, I think I would make an excellent haunted tour guide.
