Meet Jerry the Jet: The New Mascot Taking Flight at Gerald R. Ford International Airport
Travel days can be stressful, but there’s now a friendly new face ready to brighten up your time at Grand Rapids’ Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR).
Meet Jerry the Jet: the airport’s first-ever official mascot, who just made his big debut on Friday.

Why does GRR have a new mascot?
Jerry is more than just an adorable character that you might lucky enough to spot as you head toward your gate the next time you're flying in or out of Grand Rapids.
He was created in part to help out with the airport’s broader mission to make flying out of Grand Rapids feel more welcoming, exciting, and connected.
As GRR continues to grow with things like new nonstop flights, four new restaurants, a facelift to some of the terminals, and national recognition for its guest experience, adding a mascot like Jerry seems like the best next step.
You’ll see Jerry the Jet inside the terminal greeting travelers and spreading cheer, but he’s not just sticking to the airport. Jerry will also be popping up at community events across West Michigan, serving as an ambassador for aviation and helping to educate people about how airports connect communities, careers in aviation, and the magic of flight itself.
This little jet comes at a time when Ford International is soaring to new heights, breaking passenger records and even adding more accessibility features like a sensory room and this awesome wall that is perfect for your next selife:
While the airport hasn’t released a full schedule for Jerry’s appearances just yet, you can expect to see a lot more of him, whether you’re flying out for vacation or just attending a local event.
