The COVID-19 pandemic has hit Michigan harder than most states in the country, but it's disproportionately affected the southeastern portion of the state the hardest so far.  This has lead to some pretty skewed statics when it comes to overall cases in the state.  Only about less than 1/25th of the total cases in the state are in West Michigan.

So, how can we get a better understanding of how West Michigan is doing in terms of the pandemic?  Michigan.gov offers a complete look at the state's current cases, deaths, and other various statistics that relate to COVID-19, but like I said, it is easy to get a skewed perspective of the cases in West Michigan.

If you want a better perspective for our side of the state, you should head over to Kent County's website for a very helpful dashboard of COVID-19 information as it pertains to the county as well as West Michigan as a whole.  Kent county's Health Department also has other great information on West Michigan health concerns like influenza and lead levels in drinking water.
