An investigation is underway by the Grand Rapids Police Department after a 21-year-old man drowned at Richmond Park Pool early Tuesday morning.

Police allege that the man and two others jumped the fence at the pool. The deceased man jumped into the pool, but was unable to swim.

GRPD was called to the scene shortly before 6 a.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived they dove into the pool and pulled the man out. CPR was administered by officers until EMTs arrived. The man was taken to St. Mary's Hospital where he later died.

A second man was questioned and released, and the GRPD is currently searching for the third man they believe jumped the fence.

The official cause of the death will be determined following an autopsy. The incident is under investigation.
