So school is starting across the state, some went back last week, some go back this week. Swartz Creek Schools kick off on Tuesday and over the weekend, students got a welcome back message from the Superintendent, Ben Mainka, and High School Principal, Jim Kitchen.

The two, with the help of others in the district put on YouTube a welcome back video called "Hometown Road", a parody of the hit song, "Old Town Road" that has been the #1 song all summer.

The video was posted to Facebook on Sunday afternoon with the caption:

Giddyup SwartzCreek students! It's time to hit that hometown road and head back to school!

As of Sunday night, it already had over 250 shares and over 100 reactions.  The video on YouTube had already been viewed almost 10,000 times.

I'm usually not a fan of these parody videos, because they're usually pretty cringe-worthy, but this one is pretty well done.  Good job guys and here's to a great school year, Dragons!
