With the price of groceries continuously increasing over the past several years, Michiganders have been looking for ways to save a buck or two wherever they can.

Many across the state have turned to ALDI as a cheaper alternative to other grocers, but if you have an issue, you can't actually call them up to talk about it.

Think about it - have you ever actually heard the store's phone ring while perusing the Aisle of Shame?

Every ALDI in the State of Michigan Has the Same Phone Number

Actually, that's a bit misleading - every ALDI in the entire country has the same phone number.

There are quite a few ALDI stores scattered across West Michigan.

If you Google them, you'll notice something - they all have the same phone number listed, (855) 955-2534. And you're probably thinking, "Well, it's just a centralized phone number and they'll transfer me to my local store." That's not the case.

I called the number because I was curious, and I got this recorded message:

Thank you for contacting ALDI U.S. Due to our limited store staffing, the phone numbers for our stores are unlisted. This is part of our savings model that allows us to pass on significant savings to our customers.

Essentially, they're telling us that they don't want their workers to have to spend time answering customer phone calls. That's probably why, when you think about it, ALDI doesn't have a customer service desk like most other traditional grocery stores.

It goes hand-in-hand with other things that ALDI does to help with costs - like paying a quarter for a cart and either bringing in your own reusable bags or buying bags from them at checkout.

If you need assistance, it seems your best bet is to visit the store and ask someone there directly. (Shout out to the associates at the Knapp's Corner store in Grand Rapids who are always super helpful.) ALDI also has an FAQ section on its website, and you can fill out several forms to answer various customer service questions.
