
Rare Rescue in West Michigan Saves Trapped Bald Eagle
It used to be a pretty rare thing to catch a glimpse of a bald eagle in Michigan. But over the years, sightings have become much more common.

What's far less common is police getting a call from a homeowner asking for their assistance with a bald eagle that was in distress. But, that's exactly what happened in Kent County recently.
Kent County Deputies Dispatched to Help Bald Eagle Stuck in Fence
According to a social media post from the Kent County Sheriff's Office (KCSO), dispatch recently received a call from a property owner stating that they had discovered a bald eagle stuck in a fence on their property.

Deputies were dispatched to the scene where they were able to assist the homeowner in freeing the eagle, which promptly flew away.
While this isn't something that typically happens during a day on the job as an officer, KCSO says it serves as a reminder that,
Patrol work can involve just about anything. One day it’s handling calls for service, the next it’s helping rescue America’s national bird.
