
Kent County Sheriff’s Office Reunited With Missing K9 Officer
UPDATE: Per the Kent County Sheriff's Department, K9 Soka has been found!
Soka was located about 4.5 miles from where they originally disappeared from and seems to be doing okay, other than a few porcupine quills after adventuring through the woods.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Kent County Sheriff's Office has released a plea to the public for assistance in locating a missing K9 officer.

According to a post on X from the sheriff's office, K9 Officer Soka went missing the morning of Sunday, October 19, 2025. Soka, a German Shorthaired mix, is a new K9 officer with the department.

The sheriff's department says that Soka ran from his handler while in Irons, Michigan, located in Lake County.
Soka is very friendly, chipped, and is wearing a collar, according to authorities. They say that he was last spotted southwest of Peacock Township Hall in the Manistee National Forest.
If you see Soka, the Kent County Sheriff's Office asks that you secure him if possible and contact your local sheriff's department or Lake County Central Dispatch at (231) 745-2711.
