Michigan's Upper Peninsula is noted for its beauty and its connection to Scandinavia, mainly through its huge Finnish population.

Now we know why they may have settled here. 

Redditor travelingisdumb posted this side by side comparison of a shot from Sugarloaf Mountain in Marquette with a shot from rural Sweden. The similarities are remarkable.

And so is the weather, with long winters, and short, delightful summers. Make a trip to the UP this summer. You'll be glad you did.
