Michigan State Police Warn Parents Not To Post These Photos Online
Back to school is basically here in West Michigan and parents everywhere are excited to send their kids back to school for another year of learning and growth. One of the most beloved trends during back to school is the first day of school outfit check. Everyone is looking their best, and they want to show it off to their entire social media following!
While the "first day of school" photo isn't a new trend, parents today have spun this opportunity to share details about their little ones like their grade, school, and things they love using those cute signs you can buy and create. But, did you know that these back-to-school photos could be dangerous to post?
The Michigan State Police posted a friendly reminder on X (formerly Twitter) about posting back to school photos that may reveal too much information about your student.
What you should avoid posting publicly with your back to school photos
MSP warns that sharing personal information about your children could be dangerous. After all- you never know who may stumble upon your public post or what they could to with that information.
Michigan State Police say you should avoid posting your child's:
- Names
- School names or locations
- Grade levels or ages
- Teacher's names
While those little signs are adorable, consider keeping some of that stuff for just you and not blasting it all over the internet. After all, your child's safety is more important than any likes or shares.
