Should Michigan Stop Putting Fluoride In The Water?
Grand Rapids, Michigan was the first city in the world to put fluoride in it's water when they did so back on January 25th, 1945.

Since then, nearly one-third of community water systems (17,000 out of 51,000 across the U.S.) have fluoridated their water.

But will that end up changing?
What Does Fluoride Do?
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control And Prevention (CDC) says that Fluoride combines with outer enamel tooth layers, preventing cavities by making teeth stronger and more resistant to decay.
Almost all water contains some naturally occurring fluoride, but usually at levels too low to prevent cavities.

Many communities add a small amount of fluoride to the water supply to prevent cavities and promote good oral health.
Should Michigan Stop Putting Fluoride In The Water?
Recently Utah passed a law that bans adding fluoride to it's drinking water.
Several other states, including Florida, Ohio, and South Carolina, are also considering similar laws.
U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. stated earlier this week that he plans to instruct the CDC to stop recommending fluoridation in communities nationwide.
According to the Associated Press, RFK Jr. has called fluoride a “dangerous neurotoxin” and claimed that it has been associated with arthritis, bone fractures, and thyroid disease.
It's important to note that while RFK Jr. can recommend that cities stop adding fluoride to their water, he cannot ban them from doing so.
I'm not a medical expert, but every single dentist I've visited since I was a child, up until my most recent teeth cleaning, has always recommended fluoride and if Michigan ever decided to stop putting it in the water.
I would hope that if Michigan ever considered removing fluoride from its water, they would have plenty of research and data showing that the cons outweigh the pros.
