How many times have you wanted to know more information on somebody and went to Wikipedia to get it? We've all done it. Just who is the most Wikipedia-ed resident where you live?

The Pudding website put together a very cool interactive map that will show you the most Wikipedia-ed person where you live. On the map, city names are replaced by their most Wikipedia’ed resident: people born in, lived in, or connected to a place.

Some of the residents in the west Michigan area include:

Gerald Ford for the city of Grand Rapids. Of course we all know that the 38th President of the United States is from Grand Rapids (or technically East Grand Rapids).

The city of East Grand Rapids' most Wikipedia-ed resident is Chris Van Allsburg, author of "Jumanji" and "The Polar Express".

Amway co-founder Jay Van Andel is the most Wikipedia-ed Ada resident

Frederik Meijer, founder of the line of hypermarket stores, is the resident most looked up in the city of Greenville.

U.S. representative for Michigan's 3rd congressional district from 2011 to 2021, Justin Amash, is the most Wikipedia-ed resident for the city of Kentwood.

Actor Taylor Lautner is the most Wikipedia-ed resident for Hudsonville, where he grew up

Former Darrin Stephens from the TV show "Bewitched", actor Dick York, is the resident from Rockford that people look up. After retiring from acting, York spent the remainder of his life in Rockford and is buried in an area cemetery near that city.

Basketball player Chris Kaman, who attended Tri-Unity Christian School in Wyoming, MI is that city's most looked up resident.

Musician Iggy Pop gets the title for both Muskegon, MI, where he was born, and also for the city of Ypsilanti, where he was raised.

Other predictable finds were:

Eminem for the cities of Warren and Detroit

Madonna for Rochester and Bay City

Baseball player Derek Jeter for Kalamazoo

One interesting find, the most Wikipedia-ed resident of Lake City, MI was the late Burt Reynolds. He was actually born in Lansing but his family moved to Lake City when his father was sent to Europe with the U.S. Army. (I knew he was born in Michigan, but didn't know he had a connection to Lake City.)
