Ever since I moved here I've been hearing how awesome Downtown Market is and today I finally decided to go and I honestly don't know why it took me this long! It is so cool there!

I went for the Vintage Street Market which was a variety of vendors displaying and selling antiques and vintage goods of all kinds. It was a beautiful day to walk around and check out some antiques. There were definitely some interesting finds like books with stories and fairytales we grew up on; furniture; toys; cameras and so much more. I even bought a couple of shirts. They were cheap, retro and cozy! One of my favorite discoveries was the View-MasterA camera-like device which lets you see colorful images in 3D using a slide of pictures which usually tell a story. It totally took me back to my childhood! I couldn't help myself and had to play with a couple of them. I saw Peter Pan being challenged to a bow-and-arrow match, the lakes and mountains of Denver, and bunnies! The View-Master is officially one of the coolest toys! I wonder what happened to mine?

The Vintage Street Market was something fun to do and pass the time on a Sunday. The next event will be on Sunday September 13th. If you want more information about the Vintage Street Market you can check it out here.

After the market, we decided to go inside and I was in awe! It was such a cool building and atmosphere with so much going on. It was like one big market of food! I got to see the cheese, meat and fish counters.

I also was able to try some DELICIOUS local jam and whiskey-infused honey. I stared down a lot of delicious desserts that I had to fight the urge to get like the red velvet cupcake or chocolate chip cookie. I sampled some amazing gelato (Again having to fight the urge to cave in and buy a cup). And mostly we just walked around and enjoyed the moment. I did buy a chocolate croissant though!

After all the walking, it was time to fill the belly so of course we had to go to Slows Bar B Q (their grand opening was on Thursday). It.Was.AMAZING! BBQ Goodness! If you haven't tried it yet I highly suggest you do! The meat is fresh, juicy and melts in your mouth. Not to mention the sides are heavenly. My boyfriend and I decided to split our meal and we got ½ a pound of ribs and ½ a pound of brisket. Along with chili cheese fries, baked beans, and mac and cheese. Let's just say we had plenty of leftovers. And boy were we stuffed!

I had a great time at Downtown Market today and I definitely plan on going back very soon. I love the atrium-feel of the building and all the different things to choose from. I saw lots of good places I need to try. If you ever find yourself bored and with nothing to do, just head to the Downtown Market. It'll pass the time, it'll get you walking and of course you'll enjoy some delicious food along the way. If you're looking for something a little more private you can always head upstairs to the seating area or sit outside on the rooftop overlooking the outdoor market (and the freeway, lol).
