Aldi is opening another location in West Michigan.

Fox 17 reports that the discount grocery retailer announced Thursday they are opening a new location at at 146 Wilson Ave. NE in Walker.

The new store is set to open Oct. 29, 2020. The location will be open daily  9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

According to Fox 17,

"The new location is part of the company’s national expansion plan to become the third-largest U.S. grocery retailer by store count by the end of 2022."

The first ALDI store opened in 1961 in Germany. Aldi opened its first U.S. store in Iowa in 1976. Headquartered in Batavia, Illinois, Aldi now has more than 2,000 stores, across 36 states. There are more than 20 West Michigan Aldi locations.

Jason Hart, CEO of Aldi in the U.S. said in a release,

“Each new store is an opportunity to serve another community, which is an honor and responsibility we do not take lightly. As we continue to expand, we promise to do everything in our power to offer the lowest prices, every day, without exception. In fact, as food costs are rising across the country, we’re lowering prices on hundreds of items to meet our customers’ increased need for savings.”
