New Meijer Gas Station On Stocking Ave Gets Construction Permit

And the west side just keeps updating.

The City of Grand Rapids Development Center announced Friday, on Facebook, that the new Meijer gas station that is planned on Stocking Ave, just northeast of Bridge Street Market, was issued a construction permit to start construction of the new development.

The permit allows them to continue demolition of the old gas station and clean up the contaminated site of the old gas station while also being able to construct new pumps, canopy, and sign, as well as turning in the station into a modern gas station with less of an environmental impact that the previous service station.

The project was awarded an MDEQ grant in December of 2018 and is expected to cost around $2 million to build.  It will also bring 15 new jobs according to the City of Grand Rapids Development Center Facebook post.
