New Plan Aims to Make Childcare More Affordable for West Michigan Families

Many families in West Michigan struggle to find quality childcare that fits their budget and this plan aims to fix that. The West Regional Childcare Action Plan, organized by The Right Place, was funded by a $268,000 grant allocated by the state’s MI Future program. The plan, created by experts, looks at the current issues with childcare—like high costs and lack of availability—and offers solutions to make things better for families in our community.

One key part of the plan is to increase the number of childcare spots available, especially for working parents who need flexible hours. It also focuses on giving parents more information about available programs, making it easier for them to find the right care for their children.
