Summer’s here and every year we hear warnings and stories about leaving kids locked in hot cars.  The same goes for pets too; as proof with this story from the Grand Blanc Police Department.

Last week, dispatch received a call about a disabled vehicle on the side of the road with a puppy still inside.  Officer Rouse responded to the call and was able to rescue the pup and take him to the vet, where the vet said another 10 minutes and the puppy wouldn’t have survived.  The worst part is, the owner thought she could run to the store real quick, call for help and get some water for the dog.

Obviously this serves once again as a warning that: even just a few minutes in a hot car can be deadly for people or animals.

Good work, Officer Rouse!
