Looks like the Michigan Senate are actually doing something to help Michiganders...by passing legislation to lower auto insurance premiums.

According to WOOD, Michigan lawmakers are making an effort for this state to no longer require drivers to buy unlimited medical benefits from your auto insurer and I am all about that.

The unfortunate part of this bill is Republicans in the Senate don't want to mandate lower rates but just remove the mandatory medical insurance.

No other state in America has a medical mandate on their auto insurance but Michigan.

The state's annual premium for Michigan drivers averages $2,610 which is almost double the national average. Sounds like they have been sticking it to us.

This legislation is not pretty and won't solve most of the high cost but hopefully soon the state will get it right or we vote some new people in who can.
