Skip the Gym, Take a Hot Bath Instead
If you're someone like me who hates exercising but loves taking baths... we're in luck! New research, from the U.K., shows that a hot bath has the same benefits as exercising.
The Indian Express says that your body gets hot the same way when you're in a hot bath or doing an intense workout.
The research, which was done over 20 years, found that
...taking a long, hot bath burned 140 calories, which is equivalent to a 30-minute brisk walk."
However, you don't burn as many calories in a bath as you would doing a workout. For example, you would burn 140 calories taking a hour-long bath as opposed to 630 calories cycling for the same amount of time. Regardless, the health benefits are the same because certain proteins are released when exposed to heat.
Let the hot water run, sit back, relax and watch the calories burn. :)
